I've spent my life around farms, equipment, and manufacturing, and one thing I've noticed over the years is that a whole lot of maintenance gets done, but very little of it ever gets recorded. Not because people don't care, they're busy, they've got a business to run, work to get done, and a hundred other things demanding their attention.
And let's face it, recording maintenance has traditionally been a pain in the ass.
Nobody wants to stop what they're doing to fill out paperwork, sit down at a computer, or fight with some complicated software just to document a repair, so they don't.
Then six months or a year later, something breaks again, and everyone is left trying to remember what was fixed, what parts were used, or when it was last serviced.
I've been there, done it myself, and I've thought for a long time that there ought to be a better way.
That's why I started building Mason Road Maintenance. I believe farmers, ranchers, and small business owners deserve a simple, frictionless way to record the maintenance they're already doing, but we don't need another complicated system or more work. Just a straightforward way to capture what happened and get back to doing what needs to be done. Record > Report > Get back to work!
And there's another part of this that's important to me. It's your equipment. You're doing the work, those records belong to you. You should be able to look back at that history, use it to make better decisions, and share it with whoever you want, whenever you need to. Not have your information locked away in somebody else's system. We're still building, testing, and figuring things out. I'm not going to pretend we've got everything perfect, because we don't.
My goal hasn't changed since day one.
1. Make maintenance easy to record.
2. Make the information useful.
3. Keep it in the hands of the people who own the equipment.
Mason Road Maintenance
Record the work. Own the history.
